About This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains who we are, how we collect, share and use your personal information, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. It applies to information collected through PocketShorts web services. Your agreement or continued use constitutes authorization for us to collect, use, store and process information under this Policy. We may update it and notify you by push notification, announcement or pop-up. Please read it carefully and contact us with any questions.

1. Information We Collect and Process

1.1 Information you provide

Parts of our Services may ask for contact or other information to register an account. We explain what is required and why at collection. Registration is not required to use all services. When you register or log in, we collect device information and generate a PocketShorts user ID. You may provide a nickname, avatar, birth date, signature and other profile data; optional profile information is voluntary and should be accurate.

1.2 Information collected automatically

We may use algorithms to learn viewing preferences and recommend videos; settings can adjust those preferences. We collect hardware model, operating system, MAC and network hardware addresses, unique identifiers, IP address, software version, network type and quality, operation and usage logs, device name, language, crash data, login times and attempts, and behavioral data. We use this for safety review, detecting abuse, fraud, spam and illegal activity, platform testing and support. We analyze search terms and logs without disclosing your terms in our analysis, and you may remove them. For playback, we may record device information and where you paused a video.

1.3 Third-party sources

We may receive security-related IP addresses or device IDs from third parties, including SDK providers. Our security team applies reporting, encryption and access controls. We process information for legitimate interests such as operating and securing PocketShorts, responding to inquiries, improving recommendations, marketing and preventing illegal activity, and where required by law or vital interests.

2. Use of Personal Information

We use information to:

• enforce our terms, conditions and policies;
• provide, process, maintain, develop and improve services and content;
• communicate promotions, activity notices and agreement updates;
• ensure safety by reviewing user content, messages and related data;
• provide location services where available;
• conduct market research, trend analysis, statistics, processing and investigations.

We generally use information only for purposes described here or at collection. Where lawful, we may use it for compatible public-interest archiving, scientific or historical research, or statistical purposes.

3. Who We Share Information With

You may share through third-party apps such as WhatsApp or Facebook. Those third parties control the information under their own terms and policies, and you are responsible for disclosures or misuse resulting from your sharing.

We may disclose information to:

• Business partners: when you register with Facebook, Google or Apple, or share videos, usernames, text or links.
• Service providers: including cloud, moderation and safety providers.
• Analytics providers: helping optimize and improve services.
• Legal recipients: law enforcement, regulators, government, courts or others where necessary by law, to establish or defend rights, protect vital interests, address security or fraud, protect the public, enforce agreements or investigate violations.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our vendors may use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags or clear GIFs to automatically collect information, measure clicks and analyze use to improve PocketShorts. Cookies are small device files enabling features; beacons are small embedded data identifying cookies, view times, pages and similar device information. We may use technologies provided by Google.

5. Protecting Your Information

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to processing risks, including SSL encryption, access controls and staff training. We maintain a data security function, warning mechanisms and incident plans. If an incident occurs, we will notify you as required and activate response plans. Internet transmission is not completely secure; although we protect data, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted through the Platform.

6. International Data Transfers

Your information is stored and retained in Hong Kong, China, and may be transferred to and processed in other countries whose laws differ from yours, for security, business intelligence and other necessary purposes. We apply appropriate safeguards and require providers and partners outside Hong Kong to protect information under this Policy and internal transfer agreements.

We retain information only for the shortest period needed to provide services, then delete or anonymize it as required, and require third parties to do the same. 8. Your Data Protection Rights

8.1 Access

You may access account data such as avatar, nickname and birthday, and certain usage data such as favorites, viewing history and downloads.

8.2 Correction

You may correct information through product settings or contact us.

8.3 Deletion

Email zhfyhhxx@gmail.com, follow third-party account deletion instructions, or use Account Security – Account Logout. If our collection, use or sharing violates law, you may request deletion by us or recipients unless anonymized or otherwise permitted. Backups may not be deleted immediately; they will be securely isolated from further processing until deletion or anonymization.

8.4 Restriction or objection

Where your jurisdiction grants these rights, you may restrict or object to processing, and we will respond according to law.

8.5 Account cancellation

You may cancel your account. After identity verification and confirmation, we will delete or anonymize relevant PocketShorts data unless law provides otherwise.

8.6 Copy of information

After verification, we will provide a copy within the prescribed period unless otherwise provided by law or this Policy.

8.7 Complaint

You may complain to your local data protection authority. To secure your account, we may request additional information to verify identity before responding.

9. Children

Children under 16 may not register or create accounts. If you are 16 or older but a minor in your country, your parent or guardian must read this Policy with you, and you represent that you have their permission. Children of all ages may use Services with parental or guardian permission. Parents and guardians should read this Policy, supervise use and ensure children view age-appropriate content.
